I can only Guess ( due to your lack of information!) That you are referring to the Fuel Planner ?? we are aware of some issues there and it will be fixed
It depends on the provider you use to reveive updates. For example Navigraph lets you both download AIRAC as packages you then have to copy into a specific folder or download a software which downloads and installs the AIRAC automatically for all compatible addons you use. To be clear, AIRACs are payware. Providers offer subscription plans (about 30 to 80 € yearly) or a single-time AIRAC download for 8€ or so. If you don't want to subscribe, receiving one cycle for 8€ sounds like a convenient idea. If you then feel that too much stuff has changed so that you need a new AIRAC, you can order the next one some years later.
Just tried on the MCDU on the Aerosoft Airbus and it worked fine there..
Good for you, but this doesn't exactly respond to the advise you were given. The Aerosoft airbus most probably has a different AIRAC installed than your Blackbox Airbus.
Just loaded up BBS A330 and entered ESSA/OTHH with the current AIRAC. Didn't cause any trouble.
